November 2000 Meeting Notice
“Spirits” Lure Us
To New Location
With the holidays approaching, it’s only appropriate that we get in the
spirit of the season. The Phoenix Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter will do that the
evening of Wednesday, Nov. 8, with a program devoted to wine at our new
meeting location — Phoenix City Grill!
John Scremin, proprietor of Epicurean Wine Service in north Scottsdale,
will give brothers a short course in Wine 101, complete with a wine-tasting,
and provide us tips on what’s right to serve at the holidays.
Our new gathering spot — Phoenix City Grill — is conveniently located
off the Squaw Peak Parkway (SR 51) at Bethany Home Road. It’s situated on the
SW corner of 16th Street and Bethany Home, facing 16th Street (and just south
of a Pizza Hut store).
Phoenix City Grill will provide us with a more upscale environment and a
choice of entrees: Stuffed chicken breast or meat loaf are the options in
November. As always, there will be a cash bar.
Date: Wednesday, Nov. 8
Time: 6:00 p.m. Happy Hour, 6:30 p.m. Dinner and 7 p.m. Speaker
Place: Phoenix City Grill, 16th Street and Bethany Home Road
Upcoming meetings:
Dec. 13 — Ritual meeting at Monti’s in Mesa
Jan. 14 — Speaker will be Barry Kluger, dot.com consultant and former vice
president of marketing and public relations for USA Networks, MTV and
Prodigy. Location will be Phoenix City Grill.
